General Requirements for all Applications

The following conditions must be met for all applications for membership to the Allied Health Council:

  1. Completed official application form together with the applicable  fees and  supporting documents as requested on the application form. Not specifically mentioned  are the  additional requirements below:
  2. Copy of  Saint Lucia  identity document (excluding drivers licence), OR
  3. Copy of Passport together with a valid work permit that entitles the person to practice in  Saint Lucia either under the terms and conditions of employment or in private practice[1] ;
  4. All documents must be certified and Council holds the right to call for all original documents according to the Act.
  5. Any documents submitted that are not in English must include a sworn translation of the content of the document in English;
  6. All applications must be submitted to Council Office.

 Additional documentation required:

  1. copy of complete academic record for the full duration of studies;
  2. proof of completed internship if applicable; 
  3. proof of registration with relevant statutory body; 
  4. original letter of good standing from relevant registering statutory body, which letter must state that the applicant does not have any pending disciplinary proceedings against them or been sanctioned in terms of any disciplinary proceedings. The letter of good standing shall not be older than 3 months.

Application Procedure:

  1. Only applications which provide all the details listed above shall be submitted to the Professional Board for review;
  2. Administration will conduct the relevant confirmatory check in respect of work permits with the Department of  Labour;
  3. Applications will be circulated to the Professional Board in pdf format by way of email;
  4. A combined decision of the Professional Board will be forwarded to the Administration;
  5. If approved for registration, the applicant will be required to successfully complete the Council’s Jurisprudence Assessment, which assessment will be managed by the Administration;

 [1] In the event of a person not being able to obtain a work permit prior to registration, the Council will provide a letter for such purpose should the applicant meet all the requirements for registration.
